You never know when an accident or an emergency is about to happen to your beloved pet. Within minutes your pet can become very critical and unstable and need emergency care at that very moment.
We provide emergency care at our clinic during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If your pet needs urgent help while we're open, please phone us immediately at (979) 849-8524 so that we can best prepare for the care your injured or sick pet may require.

Emergency Diagnostics and Treatment at Angleton Veterinary Clinic
Diagnostic tools are used to detect diseases and other medical conditions. Having them on-site means we can get answers during your pet's visit and begin treatment faster, rather than waiting on an outside laboratory. Among others, we have the following tools available:
- A state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine, providing immediate viewing of radiographs.
- An advanced blood-analysis instrument for quick on-site results.
- An ultrasound to diagnose potential problems not found with X-ray.
- An EKG monitor to give us a picture of your pet's heart rhythm, respiratory rate, pulse, and oxygenation.
- A tonometer to diagnose glaucoma in your pet.
At times, you may need to hospitalize your pet and have further diagnostics performed.
Soft Tissue Surgery and Orthopedics
Dr. Clark and Dr. Jacobs will perform surgeries including lump removal, bladder stone removal, and many more soft tissue procedures. Dr. Clark also performs surgeries like patellar luxation repair and select other orthopedic procedures. We occasionally will refer patients to a specialist, if needed.
When Does My Pet Need Emergency Care?
Many situations can become an emergency and need immediate attention:
- Geriatric or genetic illness
- Ingestion of a foreign object or unknown substance
- Chocolate toxicity
- Vomiting blood
- Difficulty breathing
- Possible broken limb
- Difficult labor
- Signs of heatstroke
- Seizures
- Injuries to the eyes
- Severe wounds
- Fights with other animals
- Bleeding, blood in feces or urine
- Not urinating (mainly male cats)
- Inability to move, or sudden weakness
After Hours Emergencies
Our clinic is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, and we are not staffed 24 hours a day. If your pet has an emergency outside our regular business hours, over a weekend, or in the event that Angleton Veterinary Clinic cannot attend to your animal, please contact one of the emergency hospitals below directly. Our staff will return after-hours and weekend messages on the next business day.
