Medical and Surgical Care
Should discomfort, illness or disease be indicated, Dr. Sherry L. Dodson is well-trained to diagnose and treat issues affecting:
- blood (hematology)
- ears, nose and throat (ENT)
- eye (ophthalmology)
- glands and hormones (endocrinology)
- heart (cardiology)
- joints and bones (orthopedics)
- kidneys (nephrology)
- liver (hepatology)
- skin, including allergies and infections (dermatology)
- teeth (dentistry)
If appropriate, Dr. Sherry L. Dodson can then recommend appropriate medical or surgical intervention.
Ear Cropping
This procedure can be done by Dr. Sherry L. Dodson on Boxers, Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, Miniature Pinschers, Pit Bulls and Schnauzers.
Micro-chipping
Inadvertently, someone in the family leaves open the back door, and your young dog does not yet know its way home. Or your older dog, who has been losing its way due to declining senses, wanders aimlessly in the neighborhood. Your feline friend does not come through its cat door when expected.
You call out, jump in the car to scour the area and phone the local animal shelter before your beloved pet is considered a 'stray' and faces the potential of being euthanized.
Microchips, surgically implanted under the skin as painlessly as a vaccination, can quickly identify your pet as 'owned': The chip contains pertinent information that can be read by a special scanner, reuniting the two of you before a mistaken euthanasia has occurred.
Prescription Medicine
With its in-house pharmacy, Angleton Veterinary Clinic can fill most medications prescribed by Dr. Sherry L. Dodson. She will advise you if your pet's care indicates otherwise.
Diagnostic Tools
Among others, these include a state-of-the-art digital x-ray machine, providing immediate development of radiographs; an advanced blood-analysis instrument for quick, on-site results; and up-to-date dental and surgical equipment.
