Our Doctors and Staff

Dr. Sherry L. Dodson: Chief of Staff

Sherry L. Dodson

Raised on an Angus ranch in Greenville, Texas and graduating from its High School, Dr. Sherry L. Dodson grew up showing horses. She then earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Texas A & M University. The Texas Veterinary Medical Association named her its 1998 Graduate Practitioner of the Year.

Her professional memberships include:

  • Harris County Veterinary Medical Association
  • Rotary Club of Angleton, President, with more than 13 years of perfect attendance
  • Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice
  • Texas Veterinary Medical Association

In addition to the above memberships Dr. Sherry Dodson is involved with the Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador. She also works with high school kids in Angleton through the Wildcat Athletic Boosters and the Interact Club as the Rotarian in Charge since its inception 12 years ago. She is an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Angleton.

Multi-faceted (and daring!) as well as intellectually facile, Dr. Sherry L. Dodson was actively involved in competitive skydiving for a decade, with more than 3,600 skydives! Not content with mere overland pursuits, she is also a certified SCUBA diver!

She shares her home with Maggie, her beloved grey-and-white tuxedo cat, and her Australian Cattle dog, Mo, who finished his conformation championship in November, 2006 and will be the July calendar dog for the SPCA calendar in 2008. He is as tallented as he is agile and handsome.

In her private time, Dr. Sherry L. Dodson enjoys spending time with her family and reading.

Mr. Potter's interest in U.S. and Texan history surely had an influence in the naming of his female Boxer, 'Stonewall'! He is an ardent fan of NASCAR, the Houston Astros and both the Broncos and Texans.

Jody Lease: Kennel Technician

Jody Lease

A transplanted Texan, Ms. Lease lived in Wisconsin and Florida during her childhood but has made Angleton home ever since, graduating from Angleton High.

She studied real estate before beginning her career in veterinary medicine twenty years ago. Currently "suffering through a re-modeling of her home" with husband Shawn and her "small, but tough" Chihuahua, Snapper, Ms. Lease reads and dances for enjoyment.
